Job Description

Private AI is a Toronto-based startup funded by top Venture Capital investors from New York, Seattle, and San Francisco, including Microsoft’s fund M12. Private AI has created a range of industry-leading AI solutions that make it safe to share and analyze datasets without compromising user privacy. Our cutting edge models enable developers to easily detect, redact, or pseudonymize unstructured data within their existing workflows  (on-premise, public/private/hybrid cloud, mobile, web). Private AI is led by a team of experts in privacy-preserving machine learning and natural language processing, driven by the goal of making privacy accessible to developers.

Job Description

You will leverage your legal background and work alongside our Sales, Marketing and R&D teams to:

Create compelling privacy related content (blog posts, guides),
Engage with privacy, regulatory, technology and other relevant communities to raise awareness about Private AI products and drive engagement,
Contribute to creating and updating Private AI product requirements as new Canadian data protection laws are introduced, to help our products remain compliant,
Showcase Private AI products in various use cases and environments,
Promote Private AI at conferences, meetups, and through social media,
Provide legal information based on customer questions regarding privacy and data protection laws.

Preferred Qualifications

Must have samples of written, audio, and/or video content that is privacy-focused
Have the ability to speak engagingly and articulately about legal concepts
Law Degree from an accredited university
Minimum 2 years of professional legal experience with data protection laws

Nice To Haves

Existing followership on social media platforms like Twitter, YouTube, blog, LinkedIn, Discord, podcast, etc.
Experience working directly with customers and advocating for new technologies
Background in Machine Learning
