About nwo.ai

We leverage AI and big data to anticipate global microtrends before they become exponential.

Job Description

COVID-19 has created a new social, political and economic world order – one that is increasingly driven by cultural narratives and online discourse. NWO’s bleeding-edge technology enables clients to surface the fears, motivations and demand drivers underlying various trends, providing them with unprecedented access to the why behind a narrative. NWO’s platform is already in use by Fortune 500 brands to empower strategic business decisions.

Job Description

Following an impressive seed-funding-round in 2020, we are scaling fast and searching for a talented backend engineer to join the team spearheading migration from a monolith to a service oriented architecture (e.g. microservices). You’ll spend your time rethinking the backend architecture of our NLP & trend forecasting engine, and abstracting out specific components (qua services) in the interest of making the product more robust, performant, and scalable. You will have the opportunity to do this ground up – including design, implementation, and maintenance.

Required skills

  • 3+ years professional experience as a software engineer, with significant experience developing knowledge graphs

  • Experience in at least one major coding language (e.g. Python) and ML/DL framework (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow), and fluency with SQL. Experience with big-data tech (e.g. BigQuery, Beam) and cloud environments are a plus!

  • Familiarity with Triton, Kubernetes, Apache Beam, and similar MLOps software preferred

  • Lucid communicator with keen product sense - ability to identify both the long and short term needs of the knowledge graph and convey them to product and engineering leadership

  • Intellectually curious innovator - function as a trailblazer for new ideas in the overall graph ecosystem, at times creating complete POCs to test viability of potential innovations

  • Strong, quality-oriented engineer - continually drive our engineering standards (code reuse, documentation, testing, etc.) and levels of service forward

Nice to haves

  • Experience working with graph data models (RDF, Property), databases (Amazon Neptune, Neo4J, TigerGraph), or graph query languages (Gremlin, SPARQL, Cypher)

  • Applied research experience in the field (NLP, Graph ML, Knowledge Graphs)

  • Experience in Natural Language Processing techniques for entity resolution, disambiguation, and linking

  • A self-starting, intellectually curious, solutions-oriented mindset

  • A love for keeping up with current affairs and the latest trends

Perks

  • Base salary range $100k - $140k

  • Equity in a company with rapidly growing valuation

  • Excellent health, dental and vision benefits

  • Supports working from home (1 day / week)

  • Subsidized gym membership

  • Pet-friendly office
