Position Description
ShipIn is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Operations Specialist. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission and work in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will act as the operational anchor between customers and internal teams, ensuring deployments are executed on time, efficiently, and with full visibility.
This role is primarily project and deployment-focused, requiring strong coordination, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to anticipate and resolve bottlenecks before they impact timelines. You will work closely with ship managers, vessel crews, service providers and internal teams to ensure smooth execution from pre-installation through system commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive end-to-end deployment of ShipIn systems onboard vessels, from planning through commissioning and go-live and providing regular project updates and status reports to customers and internal teams.
- Coordinate pre-installation planning, addressing technical challenges and aligning installations with shipowners, managers, and vessel crews.
- Coordinate hardware shipment requests with the customer and internal logistics team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Optimize operational workflows, identifying process bottlenecks and implementing solutions for scalability and efficiency.
- Guide vessel crew and installation teams by addressing operational queries and ensuring clarity on installation and system requirements.
- Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to support senior management decision-making.
- Act as the day-to-day operational point of contact for assigned customers during deployment phases.
- Build strong working relationships with shipowners, fleet managers, and onboard teams to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Provide first-line technical and product support, troubleshooting issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensure high responsiveness and effective communication throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in maritime operations, fleet management, or deployment/project coordination roles.
- Understanding of shipboard systems, fleet operations, and logistics; supply chain and vendor management experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and project tracking and collaboration tools (e.g., Monday.com, Jira, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
